Stoneware, transfer decoration. Vivid full-color, two-panel motif. A portrait of the mighty grizzly bear is seen on the left side of the handle. The right side shows a full-scene presentation of the animal in its full grandeur. Each image is surrounded by an original elk horn design and raised-relief borders. Embossed, half-high pewter lid. In James A. Meger’s words: “The grizzly is internationally respected for its awesome power as well as its fearlessness and ferocity”.
