The friendly relief scene on this stoneware stein is of two men and a woman, who have befriended a young red fox pup. On both sides of the main motif are phrases of a German poem, translated to say “In the forest and in the meadow, is where I find my happiness”. Pewter conical lid. A full figural red fox is on the handle.
