Tom Weigand has a way with dogs. His distinctive and highly detailed pictures capture the special qualities of each breed he photographs. His portrait of a Pug is interpreted on this pillow. As is true of most toy dogs that have short faces and tails curled tightly over their backs, Pugs probably originated in China. Dutch traders brought specimens of this sturdy, compact breed back to Holland and later introduced them into England, where they quickly became fashionable with the notability. Today, they are raised as watchdogs and pets.
